One day our friends had gone home to Poland and my Parents were just about to arrive the next day… so we decided to have one-da-holiday! Just us and the Nature, and not far from home. It was a gloomy day in Inverness, the harr covered entire city. Did I mention harr before? If not – it’s a mean type of fog: very thick, grey, and comes from the sea covering everything and making you feel depressed. There is one way to escape it – get away from it as far as possible! Because it stays close to the sea – the higher you are the better
For our walk we chose Speyside – lovely place for a short walk.
For the first minutes of our drive we thought it wasn’t a good idea – the fog was so thick… Everything looked so magical and different …

OK, Michal and Mini The Pepper don’t look magical but how about the photo below? Doesn’t it remind you of anything? We named the place “Narnia”
From that place on it got only better and better! The fog cleared off and entire world was white! Silver! Sunny!!!! We stopped in Duthill, near Carrbridge and what we saw when we got out of the car? White fields and a flock of wild geese! Come on, isn’t it enough to make ones day? It made our day indeed.

I even managed to get a close-up of the birds

Now – as you may have noticed I love taking photos and I especially like taking close-ups. The photos below are the best and the most favourite from a big selection I took that day. Have a cuppa and feel the spirit of that day…

We didn’t meet any people but… we met one lonely sheep

and we had some fun on ice:

and you know what’s that?:
they are frozen air bubbles in a puddle! The frost must have come very quickly!!
When the sun was low we decided to visit one place we’ve been to in the past. It’s a long glen between Carrbridge and Nairn – very empty, very eerie, and it’s so different from every other place we’ve seen. And it’s just out of this world in the sunset…

I don’t often upload portraits of myself, but this one I quite like. Good night

Welcome on my blog Katja
It was just amazing day with the frost and light – I couldn’t resist taking photos! I think winter sun is very special and romantic, and places look so different this time of year.
